The nature of our business is to provide services to oil and gas projects. We are looking to add to our team in Grande Prairie, as our business grows.

Basic Function:

The Junior Accountant will support the day-to-day operations of our Grande Prairie divisions. As the Junior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to learn the full cycle of our business, providing system and process support to a large group of diverse stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate to gain valuable work experience and have a real impact on the processes & procedures of a medium sized electrical/instrumentation company, providing services to the oilfield.


Principle Duties:  

  • Generate accurate and timely cost reports for projects, ensuring billable amounts are calculated correctly and monitoring billable amounts against purchase order/budget commitments.
  • Support the management team with analysis of data related to inventory movement, sales, etc.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, as required.
  • Assist with inventory related issues/procedures, including management of year-end inventory count process.
  • Provide accounts receivable support by producing statement of accounts for clients and supporting billing coordinators, as required.
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards, communicating with employees to obtain supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with purchasing department to facilitate efficient movement of materials.
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost and/or increase efficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to learn about Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, in order to provide day-to-day system support to all levels of the organization (e.g. billing coordinators, parts technicians, shipper/receiver, etc.).
  • Ensure all levels of the organization are following standard processes and procedures, providing feedback to management team on performance.



  • 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Post-secondary education in the field of Accounting/Bookkeeping is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Proven intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Proven team player, able to maintain a positive attitude and flexible approach under pressure.
